Win a free piper computer kit

Hands On Learning in a DIY Computer Kit for Kids

If you have a kid that loves to tinker and build AND is crazy about Minecraft you won’t want to miss our Piper giveaway. We’re giving away a free Piper Computer Kit to one lucky entrant!

Piper Kit

So what is Piper? Piper is a computer kit that kids assemble themselves. The computer runs the Raspberry PI Edition of Minecraft and also provides a platform for learning about physical engineering and electronics. Kids have to follow an engineering blueprint to assemble their Piper and once they’ve gotten it working, can use it to to program games in Scratch, surf the web, or invent projects of their own. Learn more about the kit here.

Why Piper?

Why are we giving a Piper away? Because we think it’s a great product. Kids get hands-on experience with micro electronics as they assemble the kit and then have a chance to amplify that learning by using the computer to build their own projects.

And while well designed, the kit isn’t easy. Kids have to put together more than 100 parts, follow a complex engineering diagram, and troubleshoot their work as they go. They probably won’t get it right on the first try, but with a little persistence their computer will be up and running in no time.
