This challenge is focused on customizing your Minecraft identity through the minecraft player skin. Minecraft is a world to be built upon and customized, so it just makes sense to customize the avatar that you are using in the game to represent you. Minecraft doesn’t provide any tools to edit a player skin in the game so you need to use a skin editing website.
“The Player” is the Minecraft character that you control in the game. By default there are two skins, “Steve” and “Alex.”


REQUIREMENTS
- Minecraft account
- Computer
- Internet access
STEP 1
Choose a Minecraft Skin editing website. We like Miners Need Cool Shoes.
STEP 2
In Miners Need Cool Shoes there are templates you can use and revise or you can start from scratch. We decided to use this template.
STEP 3
Once you’ve designed your skin, you’ll need to download the file to your computer.
Click on Download to Computer
STEP 4
The skin file is now saved to the download folder on your computer. The file will be called something like “download.png”
STEP 5
Login to Minecraft.net
Go to Minecraft.net/profile
Click on Choose File
Find the skin file on your computer
Click on Upload
You will see this message “Your skin has been changed! It will take a couple of seconds for it to update.”
STEP 6
Login to the Minecraft game either as Single Player or Multiplayer. Note if you were already logged into Minecraft when you uploaded the skin file you may need to quit and log back in.
STEP 7
To see your new avatar in-game click on F5 or Function F5
STEP 8
Enjoy your new Minecraft Player skin!
